With the game officially debuting on August 7, it seems much more information is now out about the strangely cryptic release, with critics revealing some of its biggest details. Among these was an official confirmation of exactly how long players can expect to spend in Crossroad’s campaign, with GameSpew revealing “the story mode takes around five hours to complete, and unless you’re a keen achievement/trophy hunter, there’s very little reason to return.”

That’s obviously an incredibly short runtime, especially for a full-price game. Many can’t justify dropping that much on an experience that will likely be completed in just two or three sittings, however, it is worth noting that the adaptation does have multiplayer, with players joining heroes, villains, or cops and competing against each other as they attempt to complete a mission. While it likely can’t make up for the lack of content in the main campaign, it seems as though there will at least be something for players looking to get that little bit extra out of Fast and Furious: Crossroads.
Of course, the game hasn’t exactly been doing too great in the eyes of fans or critics, with many criticizing the title’s most recent trailer for showing outdated graphics, dull gameplay, and some strange dialogue. A number of reviews already seem to agree, with GameSpew giving the adaptation a 3 / 10 and the current Metacritic user score currently sitting at a 2.9.
August does have some huge new games that will likely take players much longer to beat than Crossroads. Hyper Scape, the expansive new battle royale from Ubisoft, hits consoles on August 11, likely bringing hours of engaging content, while UFC 4 will hit shelves on August 14. Meanwhile, Microsoft Flight Simulator drops on August 18 and Tell Me Why, the new narrative game by the creators of Life Is Strange, lands on August 27. It’ll likely be an interesting month for games, so players looking to grab themselves something they’ll play for much longer this month won’t have to look very far.
Fast and Furious: Crossroads is out now on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
