There are some almost essential perks in Far CryNew Dawn, and if players are going to navigate and thrive in the post-apocalyptic Hope County, then they will certainly need to know the best perks in the game, and what they should focus on first.
8 Repair Torch
This perk will add the repair torch to the weapon wheel. With this useful tool, players will have an easy time cracking open safes, setting enemies on fire, and repairing vehicles. All of these uses are of great ability to the player and should be used early on, so that players can maximize the number of safes that they find and crack.

If players dedicate a lot of their time to treasure hunts and exploring, the repair torch is essential for unlocking the safes that harbor the most loot. Another great perk is the fact that the repair torch will fix vehicles, a necessity to navigate through the vastness of Hope County.
7 Grapple
There are some areas in Far Cry New Dawn that are somewhat inaccessible to new players, or to those that have not purchased the Grapple perk yet. Getting the Grapple perk early in the game is essential to those that enjoy discovering new locations and looting around the map.
Using a Grapple will prevent the player from dying of fall damage, and they can access specific points that are made to be investigated. Unlocking the grapple means that the player will have less backtracking to do later in the game.
6 Covert
This perk is only really essential for those players that seek more stealth. Covert will decrease players’ noise level while moving, and increase their movement speed while crouched. This means that players can walk quietly and move faster when crouched, a great skill in for its stealth potential.
Covert is a must-have perk when it comes to stealthy play in Far CryNew Dawn, a fun way to navigate the wasteland and the bandits that lurk within it. Stealth always has the downside of being slow and tactical, but at least Covert will somewhat make movement easier.
5 More Medkits
There has always been a funny relationship with healing in the Far Cry games. Now with Far Cry New Dawn, players can heal themselves with Medkits more effectively rather than picking out shrapnel from their hand after a fire burn. The More Medkits perk allows players to carry more of the best healing items.

The game starts the player off with an inventory of two Medkits, but this perk will allow players to carry more. It’s only really an essential perk to the players that find themselves at death’s door, especially on the higher difficulties of Far CryNew Dawn.
4 Skydiver
A classic feature of the modern Far Cry games is the wingsuit. Thanks to Skydiver, the famed perk returns, and players will be able to utilize a wingsuit when they jump off a high enough perch or ledge. Skydiver is a great perk for players that want to get to their location fast and fall with style.
Skydiving with a wingsuit is a thrill in the Far Cry games, and Far CryNew Dawn continues that tradition. It’s always fun to fly over the map and take in the views from above. It’s also a great way to get somewhere quickly and avoid confrontation.
3 Well-Armed
Sometimes, two guns just aren’t enough. With the Well-Armed perk, players will be able to carry three weapons at the same time. This means that each player can have a more versatile loadout. If they want pistols, bows, snipers, or anything far between, it’s their choice. They have multiple guns for multiple different situations.
It’s never a bad thing to be a walking arsenal in Far CryNew Dawn, a devestating potential future, considering everything and everyone outside a safe camp wants the player dead. Players can also unlock Heavily Armed, which grants them a fourth weapon slot, but it is up to them if they see it as worth it or not.
2 Tactical Binoculars
For those players that love tactics and stealth, look no further than the Tactical Binoculars. This tool has been a staple of Far Cry for a while, and they return for Far Cry New Dawn. The Tactical Binoculars allow players to equip binoculars to tag enemies at a great distance and wide radius.
This perk will provide the player with a tool to mark enemies and to know where they are moving. It tracks enemies so that players do not have to. This makes for an essential device in stealth, or even just tagging enemies for a friend to bear witness to.
1 Wrath
After completing Joseph’s Secret Story mission in Far Cry New Dawn, players will receive Eden’s Gift and Eden’s Gift bar that follows. This gift provides players with familiar abilities, and ones that can be greatly overpowered if used correctly. Perhaps the best perk in Far Cry New Dawn to use with Eden’s Gift is Wrath, which grants players temporary buffs to their speed and melee damage, reduces damage taken, and grants immunity to knock-downs.
This perk may consume Eden’s Gift, but it’s something to use if players want to devastate the enemies around them and show just how powerful they have become as they progress through the story of Far CryNew Dawn.
Far Cry New Dawn is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
