We have seen a rash of injuries over the first five weeks, highlighted by Indy’s reigning rushing champ Jonathan Taylor (vs. Jaguars in Week 6). Taylor (ankle) missed the Colts’ Week 5 tilt with the Broncos, but he hopes to return in a juicy divisional matchup with Jacksonville. With Nyheim Hines (concussion) also dinged up, it could be the Deon Jackson show.
As we always say, injuries are a curse to some but a blessing for others. Veteran Seahawks back Rashaad Penny (tibia) might have suffered a season-ending leg injury over the weekend, paving the way for rookie Kenneth Walker III (vs. Cardinals) to break off a massive TD run. After New England ruled Damien Harris (hamstring) out, Rhamondre Stevenson (@ Browns) stepped up and rumbled over the Lions for 161 yards. Both KW3 and ‘Mondre have massive PPR upside, as their coaches have lauded their hands and feet during their young professional careers. Eno Benjamin (@ Seahawks) would also be a great running and receiving option this week if James Conner (ribs) can’t go.
WEEK 6 PPR RANKINGS:QBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
Other backs who remain multifaceted offensive threats include Devin Singletary (@ Chiefs), Melvin Gordon III (@ Chargers), and JK Dobbins (@ Giants). It’s safe to say we can also add Jets rookie Breece Hall (@ Packers) to this list despite the tough matchup. Hall has been explosive over the past two weeks and should at least supplant Michael Carter on Gang Green’s RB depth chart. Similarly, Travis Etienne (@ Colts) is coming off his best game and is in play in PPR leagues in a decent matchup against Indianapolis. James Robinson is still a safer option, though.
WEEK 6 STANDARD RANKINGS:QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
Raheem Mostert (vs. Vikings), who’s dominating touches over Chase Edmonds, is trending up, but that’s not the case for all “RB1s.” Cam Akers (vs. Panthers) has taken over in L.A., but he’s struggled all year and is merely a ho-hum flex against Carolina. Brian Robinson Jr. (@ Bears) should continue ramping up, but the crowded Commanders’ RB room limits his value in a favorable matchup against Chicago. Tyler Allgeier (vs. 49ers) is still ceding some carries to Caleb Huntley, and Damien Williams (ribs) might return to eat into Allgeier’s playing time even more. Given the matchup, it’s tough to trust any Falcons’ back.
WEEK 6 DFS: Best stacks | Best values
Because Derrick Henry, Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift, Dameon Pierce, and Josh Jacobs are off this week, some fantasy owners will have to dig deep for their RB2s or flexes. That might mean playing Najee Harris (vs. Buccaneers), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (vs. Bills), or both Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard (@ Eagles) in tough matchups or hoping for a bunch of catches from Kareem Hunt (vs. Patriots), Rachaad White (@ Steelers) or Hines (vs. Jaguars) if he plays.
WEEK 6 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings
There aren’t any perfect answers when faced with decisions like this. In PPR leagues, you can usually find higher-floor guys based simply on targets, but sometimes you just have to trust the touches and hope for a TD.
