Of course, there are plenty of sleepers, too. Teddy Bridgewater (vs. Jets) and Kirk Cousins (vs. Seahawks) are both legit QB1 candidates. It might be jarring to see, but they’ve produced like that thus far and once again have favorable matchups heading into this week. Carson Wentz (@ TEN), if healthy, Sam Darnold (@ HOU), and Daniel Jones (vs. Atlanta) are also notable risers and qualify as potential streamers. Derek Carr (vs. Dolphins) is also in the QB1 conversation after he’s carved up Baltimore and Pittsburgh in back-to-back weeks.
WEEK 3 PPR RANKINGS:Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker
For now, we have Jones as a mid-tier QB2, but let’s be real – his upside is a top-10 QB with such an atrocious defense on the other side of the ball. As a fantasy community, we probably are too skittish about ranking Jones higher, waiting for the inevitable collapse, but what if it never happens? He hasn’t even been a must-start in two-QB/superflex leagues, but it sure feels like he is this week. Bridgewater draws the Jets, who again look to contend for the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, and Darnold gets back to facing a cupcake on a short week. Cousins is making the case to be a must-start regardless of your league format, if for nothing else than he has to attempt 50 passes to keep his team in the game. Trevor Lawrence (vs. Cardinals) is also a streamer consideration given the matchup.
WEEK 3 STANDARD RANKINGS:Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST | Kicker
Baker Mayfield (vs. Chicago) will likely have to pass more than he did vs. Houston, but he’s falling as other QBs rise. Same with Matt Ryan (@ Giants) and Ben Roethlisberger (@ Bengals). Josh Allen (vs. WAS) once again faces what should be a good defense in Week 3. He looked more like what we expected in Week 2 at Miami, but he still hasn’t hit his season-long ceiling. Until he completely stinks it up, you’re still inserting him in your lineups, no questions asked, especially with Washington disappointing so far.
WEEK 3 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings | Yahoo
It’s safe to say you’re fading Jameis Winston (@ New England), Ryan Tannehill (vs. Indianapolis), and Joe Burrow (@ Pittsburgh) this week if you have the means to do so, though Tannehill is right on the bubble. He looked better in Week 2, but the Colts’ defense is a different animal than Seattle’s. Burrow struggled against Chicago in Week 2, so even though the Steelers just got roasted by Carr, we’re worried about Burrow getting rattled and beat up after 60 minutes of football on the road vs. the Terrible Towels.

Jared Goff (vs. Ravens), Mac Jones (vs. Saints), and Taylor Heinicke (@ Bills) have exceeded expectations in fantasy thus far, but their matchups look tough this week, and it would be tough to start any of them with the utmost confidence. The same goes for Justin Fields (@ Browns), who could be filling in for Andy Dalton (knee) but looked terrible in two-plus quarters of action last week. Give him at least one more game before taking the plunge on his dual-threat talent.

Fantasy QB Rankings Week 3: Who to start at quarterback
Rankings are based on standard, four-point passing TD scoring formats.
title: “Fantasy Qb Rankings Week 3 Who To Start Sit At Quarterback In Fantasy Football” ShowToc: true date: “2022-12-12” author: “Tracy Zellinger”
With it only being two weeks into the fantasy season, it’s still a bit premature to write off some of your players as “busts” (barring a season-ending injury like what happened to Lance) or lose hope if you’re sitting at 0-2. It’s beyond cliche, but fantasy football is truly a week-to-week grind, and at times it can be beneficial to just completely forget what happened one week and not let it have an impact on your decisions for the next week.
That being said, we do have another set of data points to evaluate. It was a bit alarming to see Brady (vs. Packers in Week 3) and Russell Wilson (vs. 49ers) struggle, and as a result, both have seen downticks in their Week 3 rankings (especially Brady with Mike Evans suspended). Joe Burrow’s subpar Week 2 performance isn’t as worrisome, but it’s worthwhile to monitor his play moving forward. A matchup with the Jets this week should cure what ails him, though.
WEEK 3 PPR RANKINGS:RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
Other QBs whose rankings see downticks in Week 3 include Tagovailoa (vs. Bills), Jameis Winston (@ Panthers), and Justin Fields (vs. Texans). Tagovailoa is coming off a career day, so it’s probably weird to see him drop in the rankings, but fantasy is all about weekly matchups. The Bills are as tough as it gets. Tua always has upside because of the home-run ability of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but bad turnovers always lurk for him. That’s also true of Carson Wentz (vs. Eagles), but we like his matchup much more. Winston (@ Panthers) looked like the “Bad Jameis” from his Buccaneer days last week, and the Panthers’ pass defense is solid. Fields simply hasn’t shown us much of anything this year, so even in what looks like a decent matchup, he drops. If the Texans can slow down Wilson, they can certainly do well against Fields.
WEEK 3 STANDARD RANKINGS:RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs | Kickers
Some bubble QBs with favorable Week 3 matchups include Kirk Cousins (vs. Lions), Wentz (vs. Eagles), Marcus Mariota (@ Seahawks), and Mac Jones (vs. Ravens). The Lions defense once again struggled against the pass, making Cousins a must-start QB in Week 3. Wentz had another impressive performance despite some turnovers, and Mariota had another respectable week despite ending the game with consecutive turnovers. Jones is the tough one because the Pats offense has been beyond stagnant, but Baltimore’s pass defense has been abysmal. It’s tough to recommend Jones in single-QB leagues given the glut of talent at the position, but clearly there’s upside there.
WEEK 3 DFS LINEUPS: FanDuel | DraftKings | Yahoo
Trevor Lawrence (@ Chargers) and Jared Goff (@ Vikings) also make cases to be in your starting lineups after solid Week 2s, but Lawrence has a relatively tough matchup in L.A., and Goff is always unpredictable, especially on the road. Like Jones, they’re tough to recommend in single-QB leagues, but they are possible streaming options if you need a Dak Prescott (thumb) or Lance replacement and you’re playing the streaming game.
