With the Falcons, Bears, Packers, Saints, Commanders, and Colts on bye, we’re only without one kicker owned in over 16 percent of leagues (Younghoe Koo). Chase McLaughlin and Wil Lutz are usually decent options, but ultimately, the six-team bye won’t cause too many waiver-wire runs at kicker.
Perhaps the biggest loss is three indoor stadiums. Whenever the calendar flips to December, weather is a potential X-factor for every player, especially kickers. Having a guy who kicks indoors is always a major plus, as it’s one less thing to worry about as we get closer to Sunday.
WEEK 14 PPR RANKINGS:QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs
This week, Brett Maher (vs. Texans in Week 14), Nick Folk (@ Cardinals), Daniel Carlson (@ Rams), and Ka’imi Fairbairn (@ Cowboys) are all kicking in stadiums with a roof. Technically, L.A.’s SoFi Stadium is open-air, but Carlson will be mostly protected from the elements. Fairbairn is the only one of these kickers who’s available on the majority of waiver wires, but he shouldn’t be this week. Consider him the top streamer if you had been relying on Koo.
WEEK 14 STANDARD RANKINGS:QBs | RBs | WRs | TEs | D/STs
Going a little deeper, Jason Sanders (@ Chargers) and Michael Badgley (vs. Vikings) are also in covered stadiums and have statistically solid matchups. We always caution against putting too much stock into kicker matchup stats, but after 13 weeks, these numbers have to mean something, right? Cade York (@ Bengals) and Jake Elliott (@ Giants) are your best outdoor streamer options based on matchups. Evan McPherson (vs. Browns) and Harrison Butker (@ Broncos) are also in good spots if they happen to be available in your leagues.
WEEK 14 FANTASY PICKS: Sleepers | Busts | Start ’em, sit ’em
Again, kicker matchups only mean so much, so if the weather reports are looking dicey later in the week, just grab someone kicking indoors, such as Greg Joseph (@ Lions), Cameron Dicker/Dustin Hopkins (vs. Dolphins), or Matt Gay (vs. Raiders) for safety. They can just as easily have a three-FG day as Justin Tucker or Tyler Bass, so you don’t necessarily lose much off your ceiling while maintaining a decent floor.
